Starting from 5 October, I’m trying to stay coffee-free. This could be the usual ‘coffee fasting’ I engage in occasionally when I feel that I’m going overboard with coffee-drinking but it can also be the start of a lifelong abstinence from coffee. I’ve always wanted to pick something in life I do so naturally and habitually and do it differently. Coffee is a right choice.
I started drinking coffee pretty young, in Primary school I guess. Not because I was trying to stay awake. I was just attracted to the aroma and the bitter-sweet taste (when drank with sugar of course). I didn’t quite get hooked, or generate any sort of dependence on it. It’s just that it gives me an unpleasant breath sometimes and it definitely contributed to teeth stains which are hardly desirable.
I got my teeth scaled and polished on that very day and I decided perhaps I shall stop coffee for a while, possibly a really long while. Turns out that it wasn’t exactly that hard. I already stopped bringing coffee to camp and I just had to stop buying coffee while I am outside and not make them at home.
Let’s see what happens the next couple of days.
