Just when you get the chance to brag that you run pretty fast and you’re into the mood to train harder and achieve better running results and timing, your body sends you a message that says, “Stop screwing me around”. The area above my left ankle on my shin started hurting 2 weeks back and somebody told me it’s a symptom of ‘Shin Splint’, which is supposed to mean I’ve been running a little too much. That’s is real sad because I’m just beginning to be on par with the faster runners in my unit and I’m hoping to be able to run competitive for 21km Army Half Marathon this year. I’m still wondering if I should keep up with usual training, step it up or start slacking a little more.
As if that is not enough, I was garang enough to play around with SOC sort of obstacles despite being of unsuitable PES grading; I ended up with a shoulder sprain that don’t seem to be recovering any time soon. I got a light scolding from the MO for fooling around. I just hope things don’t get too serious.
Other than that NS life have been surprisingly great; I find myself learning new things everyday and making great friends; it’s a really great place to know all sorts of people and also expand the range of frequency you get to communicate with. And all that can really make one happy. Attitude is really important in determining everything that you do; it lifts or dampen your mood, adjusts your effort-input based on that and ends up determining your performance. Talking about that, IRAS rejected me but I seriously think the interview was good experience to learn about IRAS and help me think about the work environment I really want to work in. Apparently I’m still not good enough for them yet so it just means I’ve to grow more.
