Simply Vib’s Babbling - Dismantling Rubik's Cube...

I was hunting for management books and biographies about business leaders and in particular, I was finding Jack Welch’s Winning. It was at Central Library that I stumbled upon 360 degrees Leader and I kind of got attracted to John C Maxwell’s books. They are good reads in camp because it gives you a little ‘Orea-cookie-sized’ advice (I can’t say they are bite-size because they are usually bigger chunks so yea; to me, bite size is about that of Famous Amos cookies – plus I prefer them without nuts) that you can practice almost immediately and they’re very practical to almost every aspect of life.

From there, I went on to read other John C Maxwell’s books and I must say although many ideas are used over and over again in his books; they make a lot of sense and gives clear instructions to the conduct of life in many aspects. I enjoyed the quotes he used for all his books and I’d be glad to share them with everyone. One of my favourites which I think is important in strengthening yourself is by Mark Twain:

Keep Away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always so that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great” – Mark Twain

And when life gets tough, remember this by Theodore Roosevelt:

There has not yet been a person in our history who led a life of ease whose name is worth remembering” – Theodore Roosevelt

I’d be glad to share more as I receive them. For those interested in leadership stuff, do look up John C Maxwell’s books. For the rest looking for such materials in the library, the Call No. falls in the 658.4092 region so save yourself some time at the OPAC and go straight to the shelves. The library is particularly crowded in late afternoons and evenings of Saturdays – I mean the Central one but it can easily apply to many other libraries as well.
